attach an object to a ModelAnimator

Hi there,

I'am quite new to XNA and game programming in general.

In my little game I want a small model to be able to move around on the skin (mesh) of another animated model (a big one, for example the dwarf from the tutorial).

How is that possible? I don't see the right approach right now.

At the moment I think of two possible solutions:
1. Move the small model on the static Model and then apply the transformations to it. May be by using the IAttachable interface provided by the framework.
2. Directly move the model on the skin of the animated model, but here I have no idea how this could work.

Has somebody ever done somethink like this?
