How to get pixel data - co-ordinates of pixel

Hi all,

how can i capture Z co-ordinate of 3d model or ground.
For example i have ground and 3d model (dwarfmodel). But i have my own ground. This model of ground is not only flat like a board.
I need move my dwarf to hight (z-coordinate) of the ground model so i need capture hight of the actual pixel where the dwarf is.
How can i do that?
